We are already familiar with making large dinosaur head models, with much experience and a lot of customer feedbacks. The dinosaur head model we are going to describe today is relatively special, and is a large Tyrannosaurus Rex head model with a length of more than 4 meters and rock style.

The whole head looks like a “rock”, as if it were a “troll” standing here in ancient times. The big Tyrannosaurus Rex head model can move and roar, and can also spit smoke and flash red light. It kept talking as “look for the light, look for the light…” , bringing visually stunning for people.

Here we mainly describe how we made this rock style Trex head model step by step.

Step 1: Map the 3D plane of the dinosaur head in Computer and the direction of the circuit

After confirming the size of the dinosaur head with the customer, we let professional electrical engineers present the structure of the dinosaur head (steel frame shape, circuit direction, 3D plane, motors position, transmission structure, etc.) in the form of 3D drawings! And print out the professional plans, distribute to each construction department, and make steps according to the drawing.

Step 2: Create the mechanical frame of dinosaur head (steel frame + motors + circuit)

Mechanical and electrical departments docking, together to complete the production of Trex head steel mechanical structure! The staff of the mechanical department welded the entire frame of the dinosaur head, and the staff of the electrical department placed the motors, reducers, accessories, etc., on the frame one by one, and finally connected the circuit between them.

Step 3: Wrap the sponge around the mechanical structure and shape the outline

Our fabricating workers put high density of sponges onto the finished mechanical frame, and then the artist uses a knife to sculpture the Trex head piece by piece.

Step 4: Apply 3-5 layers of silicone to the sculpted dinosaur head

Our fabricating workers will evenly apply quality silicone on the sponge, and paste a layer of elastic stockings on the whole body, and then evenly apply silicone and brush a layer of gasoline to remove uneven angles. After brushing with silicone and gasoline, cool 3-5 hours.

Step 5: Paint and spray the dinosaur head in rock style colors

Our dyeing masters mix the rock style color condiment (the color required by the customer, of course, other colors are also customized according to the customer’s requirements), and then put the condiment into the spray gun to color the dinosaur head, and finally shows the rock style big Trex head model.
